training camp information

Practice & group schedule

At the beginning of the trip, I will hand out the schedule, but please note that it is subject to change. Participants will be devided between kids, teens and adults, with each group attending designated practices at scheduled times. Each night, I will send out a message with specific meeting times for the next day.

  • Each group will have a specific meeting spot and departure time.

  • Groups will travel together to practice locations.

  • Practice will range from 1 to 3 hours in duration.

  • After practice, we will all leave and return to the meeting spot together.

  • Please come prepared with your gi and water bottle to stay hydrated.

Please make sure to arrive ontime at the designated meeting spot. Anyone who is late will be left behind and NOT allowed to attend that practice. timeliness is crutial to keep the schedule running smoothly for everyone. Plan ahead, set reminders, and be ready to go!

meals

Team dinner will be provided on one day of the trip on one day of the trip. For the rest of the trip, participants are free to chose their own meals based on their preferences. We will be staying in Yokohama, which offers a wide variety of dining options.

Don't forget to check out Japans famous convenience stores for a quick delicious snack!

free time & exploration

During the day, participants will have some free time to explore Yokohama and its many attractions. We recommend staying within the area to ensure you cam make it to the designated meeting spot on time. There will be 2 designated days off, allowing participants to venture further and explore more of Japan.

IMPORTANT

participants under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult when leaving the hotel.

laundry

Judo gi's are required to be washed daily, sp we recommend bringing at least 2 sets of gi's to ensure you always have a clean gi. Some hotels may have washing machines and dryers available. if your hotel does not have laundry facilities, we will provide information on the nearest laundromat for washing your gi and other clothes.

transportation

Same flight

We will be sending out information about the group flight once it is secured. For those taking the same flight, we will meet at Sea-Tac International airport, go through security together, and board the flight as a group. Upon arrival at Haneda International Airport, we will assist with immigration and guide the group to the train station all the way to the hotel in Yokohama. For the return trip, we will travel together to the airport and assist everyone through until we land and clear customs.

Separate flight

If you chose to take a different flight, we will provide details on how to take the train and get to Yokohama independently.

riding the train

IWe highly recommend getting a Suica card upon arrival in Japan. This will allow you to quickly scan and enter the train stations, eliminating the delays from purchasing individual tickets.

Iphone useres

go to your apple wallet and add a transportation card directly to your phone. simply scan your phone to enter the train station - no need for a physical card.

Android users

First purchase a physical Suica card at the airport and upload it to your phone and use your phone to scan and enter the train station.

Kid's Suica card

there is a special suica card for kids, which we can also get at the airport.
